On a recent trip to the Drakensberg to time a race, Team #FinishTime had the privilege of staying at Under the Oak, a charming self-catering cottage that provides a perfect opportunity to recharge in nature. The cottage comfortably sleeps up to four people, with two bedrooms (one with a queen bed and the other with twin beds).
The cottage’s open-plan kitchen was well-equipped for self-catering and the cosy lounge featured a Jetmaster fireplace – which will be much appreciated if you’re visiting in the cold winter months.
The cottage opens up to a covered veranda with braai facilities, creating opportunities for relaxation and memories in the making.
If you’re in the area for a holiday, the cottage’s location will be a major highlight. It’s very close to Underberg town amenities, and offers easy access to nearby attractions like Himeville and the Drakensberg mountains. The tranquillity and mountain views made us feel like we were on holiday, even though it was a work trip.
Secure parking and well-maintained surroundings made Under the Oak stand out and our team will certainly return if an opportunity presents itself.
