While Pietermaritzburg isn’t far from Team #FinishTime’s home base in Kloof, our work sometimes makes it necessary to spend a night or two in KZN’s capital. On these occasions, we’ve found StayEasy Pietermaritzburg to be a budget-friendly base offering all the essentials we need for a comfortable stay. The location is also particularly convenient: it’s next to Liberty Midlands Mall and on the doorstep of the KZN Midlands.
Our rooms were equipped with comfortable beds, air conditioning, DSTV channels and uncapped WiFi, which is always a bonus for timing teams who may have pre- or post-race work to take care of.
Breakfast is included in the room rate, and there’s also a restaurant on-site, which made having a meal after a busy day extremely convenient.
Unfortunately, our stay didn’t allow for any downtime, but our team commented on the beauty of the outdoor pool and sundeck. One race timer commented on how easy it would be to explore attractions like Midmar Dam and the Midlands Meander from this base.
