KwaZulu-Natal’s south coast offers a laid-back seaside charm quite unlike anywhere else in the world. From its seemingly endless beaches to craft shops, beach-adjacent restaurants and bustling tourist hubs, there’s something for everyone. When Team #FinishTime headed to this part of the world to time a race, we stayed at Hlophe’s Place in Hibberdene. It proved to be the perfect place to relax after a hard day’s race timing.
Our room featured a private bathroom, air conditioning and a balcony from which to enjoy the views. It also included a work desk, which is always useful to our team, as they’re travelling for work and may have some last-minute race prep to take care of, or queries to answer after the race. There’s also free WiFi to make getting your work done a breeze.

Our team described it as the perfect location for people who want to escape the big city for a few days. Despite being there for work, the relaxing atmosphere and coastal vibes made us feel relaxed and at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and the fact that the beach is virtually on the doorstep is a big plus for those visiting the south coast for a holiday.
