New start as FinishTime partners Chamberlain’s

One of South Africa’s leading sports timing companies, the KwaZulu-Natal-based FinishTime, has joined forces with Gauteng’s Chamberlain’s Timekeeping Services in a partnership which looks to benefit participation sports across South Africa.

FinishTime is one of the leading electronic timing and results data companies in South Africa and has been involved in making sure participants in some of South Africa’s leading sports events have accurate information before, during and after races.

Chamberlain’s Timekeeping Services, which operates the popular RaceResults.co.za website, has been timing races, mostly in the Highveld area, for over 20 years. Chamberlain’s will continue to operate under their own name but will now have access to the exclusive high-tech software which has been developed by FinishTime and their Australian partners, SportsSplits.

FinishTime in conjunction with SportsSplits work together on many high-profile and internationally-respected events in Southern Africa, including the Cape Epic, the South African legs of the international IronMan Series, the Cape Town Marathon and the Two Oceans Marathon.

The new partnership is expected to give FinishTime and their partners a portfolio of events of about 300 events in Southern Africa in 2020.

FinishTime Managing Director, Trish Meyler Eldridge, says: “Chamberlain’s has a superb reputation in the Gauteng and Highveld region and we were looking to increase our presence in that area. We believe we have the best timing systems in South Africa at the moment, so it made sense for us to form a partnership with Chamberlain’s Timekeeping Services.

“We believe that the two companies working closely together is undeniably a win for the athletes and the industry at large. Together we will provide a complete service that will benefit race organisers and participants.”

Margaret Chamberlain from Chamberlain’s is excited about the future with FinishTime and sees the partnership as a win-win scenario.

“This partnership gives us access to electronic timing for our clients and it is a very high quality product. In return I think we can grow FinishTime and their products in the Gauteng and Highveld market.

“We have wanted to invest in or develop an electronic timing system for a long time, so, when the opportunity came along to have access to one of the best systems in the world, it just made sense to us. I think the partnership is a win-win for both companies, the events we time and all the participants who take part in those events.”
