Offering three bedrooms, this guesthouse strikes a strong balance between comfort and practicality. Team #FinishTime appreciated that the rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped with air conditioning, WiFi and tea/coffee making facilities. In short, we had everything we needed to recharge and stay connected before and after race day. Secure on-site parking is another big advantage for us, especially since we’re often travelling with equipment.
One of the standout features is the guesthouse’s attention to detail. There’s a swimming pool for unwinding after a long day, as well as a fully stocked honesty bar and lounge area that creates a relaxed, social atmosphere in the evenings. The result is an ambience that’s “home-away-from-home” rather than a typical hotel.
Over and above this offering, Wild Olive Guest House has expanded to include Wild Olive Villa, a semi-detached house in Claremont, within walking distance of the guesthouse. This three-bedroom villa provides another great place to stay in the southern suburbs. The villa has a maximum of three bedrooms — so this is not the right place for you if you’re looking for four separate bedrooms. During the booking process, their website asks how many people are coming, but not how many rooms are needed — creating room for misunderstanding.
