Tranquility Lodge

Team #FinishTime spends a lot of time travelling around Southern Africa in the course of their work, and the first thing that grabbed our attention about Tranquility Lodge was the description on their website of “a haven of ocean and forest”. What better place could there be to unwind after a hard day’s race timing or route scouting?

We can confirm that this lodge absolutely lives up to its statement of creating a tranquil haven. The open-plan kitchen, lounge and dining area that you’ll find downstairs is separated from the lush forest outside only by glass folding doors. This provides an immediate and powerful reminder of where you are – not to mention great images for your Instagram feed.

Each suite within the lodge is equipped with a kitchenette, a small sitting area and a wood-burning fireplace to keep cosy on those winter nights. Whether you’re there in a warm time of year (when you can make full use of the plunge pool) or during the colder months, every visit to Tranquility Lodge will be a quick trip to paradise. When life gets hectic, there can be no better remedy than the sounds of crashing waves and birdsong that you’ll enjoy here.

The luxurious double rooms feature comfortable beds and our rooms also had small lounges with kitchenettes and patios. Our team found that the only thing lacking was more time to stay and enjoy the ambience at Tranquility Lodge, which truly lives up to its name.
