The Armagh

When Team #FinishTime arrived at Armagh Guesthouse in Boksburg, it was immediately apparent that we’re found a slice of the Emerald Isle in Gauteng. With room names like “Irish Dancers”, “Celts Tree of Life”, “The Leprechaun” and “The Shamrock”, the fun Irish vibes caught our attention immediately.

Being positioned in a peaceful residential area close to the R21 makes The Armagh both a convenient and comfortable place to stay, and the restful atmosphere was idyllic in the leadup to and aftermath of the stress of race day.

Each room at The Armagh features modern comforts like air conditioning, complimentary WiFi, flat-screen TVs, tea/coffee-making facilities, a kitchenette and en-suite bathrooms – everything our travelling teams need to stay refreshed and productive.

When considering the range of amenities on offer at the Armagh, our team was heartily sorry that they were there on a work trip and not a holiday. We’d have loved to spend time in the tranquil outdoor pool or relaxing on the sun loungers. If we were participating in races rather than timing them, we would certainly have made use of the on-site gym.

Between the hospitality, the homely ambience and the friendly service, getting a chance to stay at The Armagh certainly felt like a bit of Irish luck to us.
