On the same day as the FNB Durban 10km CITYSURFRUN, FinishTime had their vans and crew out in Cape Town and timed just under 15 000 runners over the half marathon and 10km.
The race originated in the early 90’s as a half marathon only and was originally a race to beat the noonday gun on Signal Hill in Cape Town which goes off every day at 12:00 noon. In fact, Cape Townians will often check their watches against the Noon Day Gun.
As the race grew in popularity, a 10km race was introduced. It now attracts big numbers and is arguably the third biggest road running event behind the Two Oceans and Cape Town Marathon.
