Die Herehuis Guesthouse

Beaufort West is a common stopping point for Team #FinishTime on the road between Cape Town and our home base just outside Durban. Die Herehuis Guesthouse has joined the list of one of our favourite spots to stay in this area of the Western Cape. For those staying longer than just one night between long days on the road, you’ll be perfectly situated to visit the Karoo National Park, which is just 6km from Die Herehuis.

The first thing that caught our eye about this guesthouse was the building itself. It’s a Victorian style mansion built in the late 1800s, and every room exudes old-school charm as well as peace and tranquillity.

Rooms are available in a variety of configurations to suit any group. With rooms that sleep up to five people, die Herehuis is an ideal venue for a family holiday or a family undertaking a road trip between Cape Town and Gauteng or KwaZulu-Natal.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more convenient spot to stay, because Die Herehuis offers a restaurant, breakfast and room service as well as a full-service laundry and a front desk that’s open until 9pm. There’s also an outdoor pool to help you beat the Karoo heat.

We were extremely grateful to the team at Die Herehuis for their hospitality and we’ll definitely be back.
