The 26th annual Sasol Marathon in Sasolburg on February 1 doubles up as the Free State marathon championships, although it is likely most entrants will be looking to use the event as a Two Oceans or Comrades qualifier. The route is fast and flat which, when combined with the 1st February date, makes the event ideal as a qualifier. Sasol Marathon finishers will have 10 weeks to recover before Two Oceans and 19 weeks to get their legs back before Comrades.
